Dr. Anthony J. Vocaturo
DDS, AAACD, FACE, FAGD, FIADFE
Anthony Vocaturo, D.D.S., AAACD, FACE, FAGD, FIADFE, currently practices cosmetic and restorative dentistry at NJ Smile Center in Colts Neck, New Jersey. He received his undergraduate degree in Biology from Fairleigh Dickinson University. He then proceeded to obtain his dental degree in 1992 from the New York University, College of Dentistry, where he is now an affiliated clinician and speaker of the University. Today, Dr. Vocaturo prides himself as one of the very select few worldwide to hold 5 accredited/certified recognitions in the field of cosmetic and family dentistry.
Dr. Vocaturo has been recognized as a top NJ cosmetic dentist, as well as, chosen as one of the top dentists in the United States consecutively, throughout his entire dental career. Many patients that seek the expertise of Dr. Vocaturo do so, in part, because their professional careers place their smile on display for the public eye on a daily basis.
Dr. Robert Scheddin
DMD, MS, FICOI, FAAIP
Dr. Robert Scheddin earned his undergraduate degree in Biological Sciences at Rutgers University. He received a master's degree in health science at Drexel College of Medicine, while conducting research at the UPenn School of Dental Medicine. Dr. Scheddin earned his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree at Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale.
Dr. Scheddin is trained in implantology and has undergone an advanced credentialing process where he earned a fellowship with the International Congress of Oral Implantologists (ICOI) and with the American Academy of Implant Prosthodontics (AAIP). Dr. Scheddin also completed the NYU College of Dentistry’s advanced Full Mouth Rehabilitation program; an intensive additional year training, focused on comprehensive treatment for complex cases and cosmetic dentistry.
Dr. Scheddin believes in staying at the forefront of dentistry to provide the highest possible standard of care for his patients. In addition to working on fifth avenue in Manhattan, he has earned several certifications, which include botox, filler and most notably an advanced course in computer-aided design and computer-aided manufacturing (CAD/ CAM) dentistry. He is a member of the American Dental Association (ADA) as well as the New Jersey Dental Association (NJDA).
Dr. Scheddin provides a wide array of comprehensive treatments for his patients, which include all phases of dentistry. He has extensive experience in restorative, prosthetic, surgical, and aesthetic dentistry. He stays up-to-date on the latest ground breaking dental practices and procedures, providing his patients with top notch, innovative treatments that are natural and long lasting.
Dr. Scheddin enjoys making a difference in his patient's lives and vows to continue to improve the overall oral health of his community. His mission in dentistry is to be compassionate and compelling, making his patient's concerns a priority while actively engaging them in improving their oral health. In his spare time he enjoys making memories with his fiancé, family and friends, weightlifting, and playing catch with his King Charles Cavalier, Theodore.
Nicole Antonelli
Registered Dental Hygienist
Nicole is one of our Registered Dental Hygienists here at the NJ Smile Center. She graduated with honors from Harcum College in 2010 with an Associate in Science in Dental Hygiene, while also being inducted into the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society. She went on to receive her Bachelor's Degree in 2020 from Eastern International College specializing in Dental Hygiene education, research, and management. She has obtained certifications in dental radiology, nitrous oxide, local anesthesia, Zoom whitening, Velscope oral cancer screenings, CPR, and laser periodontal therapy. Yearly, she will give back to her community by volunteering at Middlesex County College for “Give Kids a Smile Day,” a program that ensures children have access to quality dental care. Nicole has over 16 years of experience in dentistry and has gained a wealth of knowledge and education allowing her to provide her patients with the best skills needed to obtain overall health, wellness, and disease prevention. Her career started in sedation dentistry, where she worked alongside patients with severe dental anxiety and phobias. This allows her to ensure your visits are filled with compassion and empathy making sure you feel relaxed, comfortable, and having nothing less than a positive experience. She has a true passion for cosmetic dentistry, specifically periodontal therapy and whitening treatments, helping you to achieve the smile of your dreams.
During her down time, Nicole loves to be with her family and friends. She is always traveling to different states and countries where she is able to learn about different cultures and diversities. She has an underlying love for nutrition, fitness, and holistic medicine, allowing her to educate her patients on holistic remedies for treatment and homecare. Nicole tries to stay connected to the true reasons she became a healthcare professional, to help patients live their highest quality of life being the healthiest version of themselves. In this quickly changing healthcare system it is hard to come by practices that value “Quality over Quantity,” one of Dr. Vocaturo’s mission statements here at NJ Smile Center. She provides the highest standard of care for those she treats while encompassing her core values as a healthcare provider and helping you achieve the smile you always wanted.
Josephine Simeone
Registered Dental Hygienist
Josephine is an accomplished dental hygienist with a passion for oral health and patient care. With a
solid educational background and extensive experience in various aspects of dentistry, she brings a
wealth of knowledge and expertise to her role.
Josephine graduated with honors from the University of Medicine and Dentistry in 2007, where she
earned her degree in Dental Hygiene. Her exceptional dedication and skill were recognized through the
prestigious Golden Scaler Award, awarded to the top-ranked student in her class. This accolade
highlights her commitment to excellence and serves as a testament to her outstanding capabilities.
Throughout her career, Josephine has gained valuable experience in diverse dental settings, including
pediatrics, periodontal care, and general dentistry. Her versatility allows her to provide comprehensive
oral health services to patients of all ages, ensuring their comfort and well-being during dental
procedures. To further enhance her professional qualifications, Josephine holds a radiology license,
enabling her to perform dental radiographic procedures safely and accurately. This additional expertise
contributes to the precision and effectiveness of their treatment plans. Recognizing the importance of
maintaining up-to-date skills, Josephine is CPR certified, ensuring she is well-equipped to handle any
emergency situations that may arise in the dental office. Her commitment to safety and patient care is
paramount, and she consistently prioritizes the well-being of those under her care.
In her free time, Josephine enjoys staying active and maintaining her fitness. She believes that a healthy lifestyle contributes to overall well-being, both personally and professionally. She also cherishes
spending quality time with her loving husband and twin children, creating lasting memories with her
family. With her warm and compassionate approach, Josephine establishes strong rapport with her
patients, creating a relaxed and comfortable environment. She is dedicated to educating individuals on
oral hygiene practices, emphasizing preventative care to promote long-term dental health. Josephine’s
excellent qualifications, combined with her genuine empathy and commitment to patient satisfaction,
make her an invaluable asset to any dental team. Her expertise in pediatrics, periodontal care, and
general dentistry, along with her radiology license and CPR certification, positions her as a trusted
professional dedicated to improving the oral health of her patients.
Melanie Jost
REGISTERED DENTAL HYGIENIST
Melanie is our Registered Dental Hygienist here at NJ Smile Center. She graduated, with honors, from The Pennsylvania State University with a BS in Biology. She then continued her education in hygiene at Middlesex County College, as the class Valedictorian. During her time at MCC she was a Presidential Scholars award recipient, as well as, a Johnson & Johnson scholar award recipient. Melanie has since obtained her Local Anesthesia License, as well as, maintained her membership in the American Dental Hygienists Association. She is currently CPR certified, and has an active radiology license. She has a deep love for travel and has even lived in Thailand, the Land of a Thousand Smiles. In her spare time, she enjoys working out, running and staying active with her two-year old Australian Shepherd. As a licensed professional, she prides herself on staying up to date with the latest technology in the field by taking multiple continuing education courses yearly. Melanie’s expertise consists of, but is not limited to; taking diagnostic x-rays, applying cavity prevention agents, administering local anesthetics and performing oral prophylaxis. Working side by side with Dr. Vocaturo, she will ensure that your dental treatment plan is thorough, precise and provides you with the smile you’ve always desired.
Chelsea Strivelli
Registered Dental Hygienist
Chelsea Is one of our Registered Dental Hygienists at NJ Smile Center. She graduated with
honors from the University of South Carolina with a BS in Biology. She continued her education
in hygiene at Middlesex County College. She has a local anesthesia license, radiology license
and is certified In CPR. In her 6 years of experience she has become proficient in oral
prophylaxis, cavity prevention applications such as fluoride and sealants, oral hygiene
instruction, whitening services and more. She is dedicated to keeping up with the latest
research and protocols associated with dentistry and does so by taking many courses every
year. Chelsea likes to spend her free time with her dogs, going to the beach, traveling as much
as possible, and spending quality time with friends and family.
Jacquelyn Serra
OFFICE MANAGER
Jackie has over 19 years of experience working in the dental field.
She has many responsibilities here at NJ Smile Center. Her expertise includes, but is not limited to; clinically assisting Dr.Vocaturo chair side, overseeing all sterilization procedures and handling all marketing and social media relations.
Jackie is also continuously taking courses to further her education in the dental field. Currently, she is CPR certified by the American Heart Association, as well as, OSHA certified for precautionary measures in infection control.
Jackie is truly a “jack of all trades”, in that, she not only provides information to our patients, but answers all questions and requests from her team members as well.
Jackie loves to learn the latest in dental materials on the market, as well as, stays up to date with all advancements in dental technology. She continues to grow with NJ Smile Center and excels in making our patients feel relaxed and comfortable.
Danielle Ventriello
INSURANCE COORDINATOR
As our Insurance Coordinator, you can count on Danielle to be your go-to expert for the navigating world of insurance. She is committed to making the financial conversation as easy and stress-free as possible so that you can focus on what really matters. Danielle is not only a knowledgeable Insurance Coordinator, but she is also one of the friendly faces you will meet at the front desk. She is known for her warm and compassionate demeanor, which makes her a great asset to the team.
When Danielle isn’t at work, you can find her at home, enjoying some much-needed downtime with her furry best friend. Although she is a self-proclaimed homebody, she also enjoys staying fit and healthy, whether that means at the gym or taking her pup for a walk.
Patti Lombardi
PATIENT LIAISON/ COORDINATOR
Patti has worked for Dr. Vocaturo for over 15 years. She is the first smile that greets you when you arrive at the office and the last one you will see on your way out. Patti has multiple years of experience as the patient liaison and will be sure to make your time at NJ Smile Center a memorable one. Her expertise is in making sure all of our patients are given appointments and completely satisfied with their treatment by the time they leave. Her real charm however, lies in her compassion towards the patients. If you are hungry, she will be sure to whip you up a snack and if you have had a bad day, she will be the first to listen with open ears. In her spare time Patti enjoys taking walks on the beach and hanging out with her grandson Luke.
Megan Becker
DENTAL ASSISTANT
Megan received her training at Dental Assistant Services and is on the road to becoming a Registered Dental Assistant She has over 6 years of chair side dental experience. Megan is CPR certified by the American Heart Association, as well as certified in infection control. She feels that working in the dental field is an extremely rewarding and fulfilling career and is very excited to be a part of a team that provides outstanding care to patients. When she’s not working, you can catch her spending time with her kids and husband at the beach during the summer time. She loves spending any free time with friends and family and traveling as much as possible.
Andrea Arteaga
DENTAL ASSISTANT
Andrea is our dental assistant here at NJ Smile Center. She works alongside Dr. Vocaturo to ensure that your dental experience is always a pleasant one. Andrea received her dental assisting certification from OCVTS in Toms River and has over 6 years of chair side experience in the field. During her time as an assistant she has also managed to obtain her associates degree in science, in which, she hopes to further her education to become a Dental Hygienist one day. When she isn’t at work taking impressions and keeping patients from drowning, she enjoys spending time with her 2 dogs and 2 cats. Her days off are spent with family and friends and making sure her pets are well spoiled.
Shekina Hernandez
DENTAL ASSISTANT
Shekina received her dental assistant training at the American Institute in Toms River, NJ, and is working on becoming a Registered Dental Assistant. Kina has over two years of chair side dental experience. She started her dental career alongside Dr. Scheddin and continues to learn alongside him and Dr. Vocaturo. When Kina is not working at NJ Smile Center, she enjoys spending time with her friends, family, and her cat Prince or taking a stroll on the boardwalk.
